Girl Hack, DerBear, and I got back from Cabo yesterday. It’s good to be home. Not that I dislike bouts of R&R (If that were true, I wouldn’t be such a bad example of not traveling during a recession. I’m the poor recreational decisions poster child.), but I have never been on a trip where the plan is truly to do nothing. I’ve gone on trips with the plan to let things lay as they fell, but nothing like this resort lifestyle.

Hanging out with Girl Hack and DerBear was like Xtreme Bonding with the BF’s Former Roommates. For one, the environment itself was strange. Timeshare resorts are such enclosed places. I never thought I’d ever be in a timeshare; I always associated them as sleazy establishments just reeking of commission. But I suppose my limited perception was well-deserved, because, as I learned through this trip, timeshares are total Whitey thangs. I was one of four to five Asians spotted once we landed in San Jose, MX. One of seven to eight people of color after leaving SFO. I’m pretty sure I was a singular Asian Sighting for a number of the Texans and Midwesterners at the resorts. Whatever, Doode, we totally own all o’ your asses in America’s Best Dance Crew.

Not to get too personal here, but I just want to recognize how grateful I am that I get along with Boo‘s close friends – and without changing my personality or reactions to things. It’s just nice. Me and the last guy’s friends? HAH! We barely even met. (And I don’t need to confer with Chris Rock in order to know that’s not a good sign.)

And now, some photos, more after the cut.

Our view, through the window! :)

The Mexican sun hates my skin.

The Mexican sun refused to roast me evenly.

Invitingly cool water-lounges.

Such inviting lounges!

The waffle roof!

Tell me this roof doesn't make you think of waffles.

Clay shot glasses?

I'm guessing these are shotglasses that are specifically designated for tourists.

THE pool at The Ridge.

That is a POOL.

DREAM HOUSE

Pretty sure I drew houses in this color scheme when I was six.

Stencils, cause, why not?

I think this means TSA laughs at my suitcase.

The Mexican airport security hated my suitcase.
