On equations: (Oscar time) (Forrest Gump + Titanic + Big Fish) = The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
On original sources: Did not know that F. Scott Fitzgerald authored the short story! Must find.
On Julia Ormond: When she’s not in a role where she’s tearing apart two close male friends in an intense love triangle, I get confused.
On Taraji Henson: Have you seen Hustle and Flow? All I can remember from that film was the marijuana-stanky couple of guys next to me and the most voracious-looking liplock to ever be captured on screen between Henson and Terrance Howard. Without any degree of exaggeration, it looked like they were trying to eat each other’s faces. Very ugly. Turned me off to kissing for an impressionable moment in time. Seeing her as Queenie? What a role reversal!
On Cate Blanchett: You are so cool. Did you do your own dancing? Whoever played your body in the red dress made me want to bust out some parallel attitudes. Can I have your eyebrows?
On emotion: Bring tissues.
On unnecessary scenes: All the magical happenstance leading up to Daisy’s accident. If you’re going to be Amelie, do it right. Also, Caroline’s “You never told me about the dancing” – Gad! Contrived! Not necessary! Just the concept of Benjamin Button was enough, such cliched moments did not need to be forced into the work. Fitzgerald would totally disapprove.
If I saw a hummingbird darting around in a storm/hurricane/typhoon, I’d think, “That is one stupid bird.”
On Brad Pitt’s Southern accent: Likable, but confusing – He would say it “Southoyn.” Loved it when the kid version of him said “I’m not uspossed to.”
On typography: I love the poster ads for this film.

@BritSketch: Did you find out if she had a body double yet? I’m still in suspense…
@Mindy: Ack, I mean “Promise” as in “I promise…” Left out the apostrophe. Where’s a good content editor these days?
‘Hope your mom has a safe, uncanceled, and otherwise uneventful trip! (See? I did it correctly this time.
