From the Silver Sun Pickups to theMaykazine.
It ought to be quite obvious, but I’m a very experienced Internet sleuth. When Google fails me, I sniff around on Facebook and MySpace. Whenever I interview new candidates, I run their e-mail addresses through a service which I will not name because I think it is too creepy. All you need to know, though, is that I’m good at finding people.
Yesterday was a day marked by irresponsibility and chased with retail therapy. Well, today, I’m following up with some more retail therapy. Because I can, dammit.
I am a lover of all things Puma, and I like the offbeat, punky styles of Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. Last week Puma announced its launch of the Black Label. It’s a lot of super metro stuff for men and women, but personally not something I plan on donning myself as I’m not a fan of pointy shoes. Perusing through the collection led me back to my favorite pair of shoes on Puma’s site right now, though, the Alexander McQueen Puma Celula sandal:
Also comes with a puma tooth charm.
Pictured above is the antique gold version of the sandal, though the green is precisely the color I want. Green is too funky for most shoe stores, though, and I have yet to find a single retailer who carries that shade. (I Googled and called, I am that serious.)
The shoes are unjustifiably expensive, though. For goodness’ sake, they’re straps and leather not worth a three-digit price tag. But when the shopping gets tough, the tough go to eBay. (If these shoes don’t look good on my feet, to eBay they shall return.)
There, I found the antique gold version of the Celulas for half price. I just won the bid this morning, and because I always have to answer the question, “Who did I just order from?” naturally, I Googled the name. And I think I got an exact match. The person lives in Los Angeles. Her last name’s kind of unique. And I now have reason to believe I just bought a pair of sandals from the female bassist and vocalist from Silver Sun Pickups.
I’m not even a big fan of the band, but at least I know Nikki Monninger has good taste in shoes.
P.S. If you know of where to get the green Celulas, please e-mail me. I will trade you. For reals.
