Heard this on 106 KMEL on Wednesday and found it hilarious. They even played it twice! I wrote to Erk Tha Jerk and he has since uploaded “I’m So Dumb” as a free download on his MySpace page. If you like self-referential comedy or making fun of stupid things that rappers do, download it now!

*** “Stupid” (Also: dumb, hyphy, retarded mang) – Contrary to popular belief, before Mistah FAB made “Stupid Dumb and Hyphy,” The Federation made “Go Dumb.” More hyphy lexicon credit ought to be paid to The Fed.

It’s about time an artist step up to the plate and address the nonsense. Hyphy has gone too far and too many bandwagon copycat rappers trying to make a buck on the trend ultimately led to it’s death, but the effects of going dumb still exist and it’s just sad. Props to Erk for using wit and humor to point out the silliness of it all and the direction we need to head in.
I still love some hyphy beats, but I’ve come to the conclusion that some music just isn’t meant to be taken seriously.
The song don’t need em is a joke. His lyrics sound like he’s trying to be like weezy with all the “I’m like… you’re …”. Weezy is always doing that kind of shit like “I’m rare, like mr. clean with no hair” etc.
Pretty much every rapper does analogies…
